Our commitment to low allergy

At Tabinokiseki, we are committed to creating original chains and components that are low allergy. We use low allergy materials that do not contain nickel, which is known to cause metal allergies, in our cotton cords, chains, and parts.

*Some people may have allergies to gold or silver. If you want to identify allergies, we recommend patch testing at a medical facility.

Metal allergy and nickel

When jewelry touches the skin, metals can ionize slightly with sweat and enter the body, causing rejection reactions that may result in rashes or inflammation. Nickel, which often causes metal allergy, is commonly used in plating on jewelry surfaces and is also susceptible to acid, so care should be taken with necklaces, bracelets, earrings, rings, and other accessories that touch the skin directly.

Waxed cotton cord

A cord made of cotton coated with wax. It is durable and resistant to breaking, and the length can be adjusted by moving the crystal fastener up and down. It contains no metal, making it suitable for those with metal allergies.

Gold materials

K14GF (Gold filled)

K14GF (Gold filled) is made by pressure-bonding gold to brass with more than 30 times the thickness of gold plating. It is more resistant to peeling than plating and less likely to cause allergies than gold plating. Enjoy the brilliance of gold at an affordable price.

K10 (10K gold)

Unlike plating or gold filling, it is made of gold (10K) through to the core, not just the surface. It contains more silver than 18K gold, so regular care is recommended. Please use a gold cloth or cleaning solution for care.

K18 (18K gold)

Unlike plating or gold filling, it is made of gold (18K) through to the core, not just the surface. It is more resistant to tarnishing than K14GF or K10YG and less likely to cause metal allergy. Especially recommended for those concerned about allergies or who find care bothersome. Please use a gold cloth or cleaning solution for care.

Silver materials

SV925 Adjustable nickel-free (99.9%+) rhodium plated

A low allergy chain with silver plating as a base for the rhodium plating, followed by genuine rhodium plating. It is more resistant to tarnishing than regular silver with long-term use. (Exchange at a discount if it tarnishes over time.)

*Normally, nickel plating is used as a base. Nickel is said to be the main cause of metal allergy. *Genuine rhodium plating is expensive, so many manufacturers use cheaper substitute rhodium, which can contain ingredients that easily cause metal allergy.

For care, wipe gently with a soft cloth. Do not use silver cloths containing abrasives as they may damage the plating.

Made of platinum (platinum 850–1000) through to the core. It is resistant to tarnishing and less likely to cause metal allergy. Especially recommended for those concerned about allergies or who find care bothersome. Please use a platinum cloth or cleaning solution for care.
